Fellowship Of Christian Bikers
Glacier Point October 5th 2005

Chuck Nugent decided a ride to Glacier Point was in order for Tuesday October 5. Six bikes showed up at the meeting place, the Mountain House parking lot. Frankly, I thought we were all nuts as the temperature was only about 50 degrees when we left the parking lot and that would put the temp somewhere in the 30’s or 40’s and we would all freeze.
Well, I was dead wrong (again) as it was about 60 by the time we arrived at Glacier Point. Yes, Chuck, it kills me to admit it but I was wrong (again).
We had all packed lunches. Ron Smith and I were the only ones with any class as we carried out lunch in neat little insulated bags. Sometimes it is hard to soar like turkeys when you must ride with a bunch of eagles. Ha. Ha. We sat on a rock wall and ate out lunch with the most beautiful view in the world, that being Yosemite Valley with El Capitan and a water fall all framed by a bright blue sky.
After lunch, we split up with four of us going home through the valley where we picked up Hwy 140 and rode along the Merced River to Triangle Road, over to 49 and back to Oakhurst.
The other riders decided they didn’t want to ride that far so they opted to come back through Fish Camp, the same way we had gone up.
Thanks, Chuck, for the idea. It was a great ride.
